RPS is a financial tool developed by SEDC to provide utility consumers with a convenient way to pay their bills and reduce staff workload (such as cashiers) at the same time. The concept is especially helpful for utilities that have large service areas, with few or no district offices.

In short, RPS delivers a real-time link to your SEDC CIS/Billing system. An RPS terminal processes payments and updates your system from an attended point such as a convenience store, bank or other high-traffic location. In unattended locations, the RPS device accepts credit card and e-check payments only, but offers 24 hour-a-day convience to members.

As payment information is processed through the terminal, all appropriate subsystems are updated automatically... which eliminates unnecessary collection trips, manual posting of off-site payments and additional reconciliation reports.
