SEDC rated “Most Advanced Technology” in Independent Analysis

SEDC, a Georgia-based provider of billing and accounting software for the electric utility industry, received the highest satisfaction and customer service scores of IT providers for the utility industry, as reported in a recent independent survey.

The Perception of IT Providers survey conducted in the first quarter of 2005 by the independent marketing and research firm Cooperative Consultants, Inc. reported that SEDC users rated the company’s software application and customer service higher than users of 13 other software and IT providers serving the electric utility industry.

"These results show the dedication SEDC has to providing leading-edge information technology to the utility industry,” Ron Camp, CEO of SEDC said. “Our ability to develop and deploy applications that solve problems and enable utilities to serve their consumers better is second to none.”

The survey, which asked more than 200 electric cooperatives to rate their IT providers’ ability to meet the needs of the utility and the quality of customer service also measured the perception that utilities have of other IT providers that the respondents did not use as their provider.

Further results from the survey indicated that the four most widely recognized IT providers for the utility industry included the National Information Solutions Cooperative (NiSC), SEDC, Daffron and Applied Technology Solutions (ATS).

Of the users surveyed, SEDC users rated the “value of the relationship” with their software provider higher than any of the other software providers’ users.

“This just shows that our customer service is top-notch, and that we are indeed satisfying the needs of our members,” Camp said. “Our hardworking and dedicated employees take great pride in the relationships they build with our customers, and it shows in all that we do.”

“It really says a lot about how well you’re doing when actual users rate you better than others,” Camp said. “This only strengthens our resolve to serve our customers better each and every day.”
